High-density AI servers and data-centre hardware concentrate a large heat load in a small volume, so the heat sink is a real design constraint rather than an afterthought. This is a scenario where the extrusion route, the fin geometry and the mounting interface all need to be considered together.
Extruded heat sinks suit steady, repeatable fin profiles at volume and cost — the right choice when the fin geometry is constant along the length. Where you need very tall, very closely-spaced fins beyond the extrusion aspect-ratio limit, skived or bonded-fin sinks or CNC-milled cold plates are the alternative. We can advise which route fits your section and volume, and machine the mounting interface either way.

Frequently asked questions
Can you extrude a high-fin, high-aspect-ratio heat sink?
Tall, closely spaced fins are limited by the press and the die's aspect ratio. Send the section and we confirm whether it is extrudable as drawn or suggest a small adjustment to make it manufacturable.
Does black anodizing actually help cooling?
A black anodized surface raises emissivity, which helps radiant heat transfer, and it also protects the surface and looks uniform. Whether it changes your result depends on the application — tell us the duty and we advise.
Can you machine the mounting face flat and add holes?
Yes — cutting, drilling, tapping and facing for flatness are done in-house, so the sink arrives ready to mount. Mark the flatness and hole pattern on the drawing.
Which alloy do you use for heat sinks?
6063 is the usual choice for its balance of thermal conductivity and extrudability; 6061 is available where more strength is needed. Send the section and duty and we confirm the alloy.
